i see the resident 1%'ers are upset that those less fortunate now have healthcare coverage

I don't think this board has any 1%'ers. US average for 99th percentile in income is about $400,000, with most major cities it being closer to a million.

I actually read a Forbes article awhile ago, can't remember how long ago that argued that most 1%ers (0.01 > 0.05 > 1.00) are unable to stop working because their lifestyle without income would be so drastically different then their lifestyle with income. Also, most valid arguments against Obamacare don't involve that.

Pay about $60 a month for myself... But I'm in Canada

Government Health benefits suck ass over here, you'll likely die of cancer waiting to get an MRI, which is why so many people stick with private.

This.

Its nice to see that pharma and insurance corporations greasing the wheels to increase those profit margins. Its a quite clever strategy greed is usually covered by a veil of noble cause while the politicians are more than happy to appease those lobbyists. The biggest lie of this decade is that there is a political party (democrats) that cares for the working class.

George Orwell is rolling in his grave right now. The policies of these last 15 years are the definition of doublespeak.

People fail to see the big picture here. The end game of this is not to provide everyone with affordable healthcare but rather increase the market share. I'm not sure of the statistics but hypothetically speaking lets say 100 million people were insured before the Affordable Care Act and in a few years lets say we have close to 90% of people insured. Even if healthcare costs decrease which i think there is a consensus they have not, your market has grown exponentially. But who does this money go to? It would be ideal if entities such as pharma, and insurance companies where non for profit but these people are going to make out like bandits.
