In the event that gold is being used for any reason at all, a password should be required.
The only problem I find this could cause is someone could type their password into the thread accidentally.

Also I have been on this site for many years and used many title options and I never clicked one by mistake.

but! someone could totally login to your account and buy italic, red, bold thread titles and waste all your fg!
