The greatest doctrinal shift in the last couple of centuries among Christians is going from hating and killing the Jewish people to almost worshipping them. Why did it happen?

When did Christians become so pro-Jew? and why?

Was it Hitler's fault?

Now I'm not saying the holocaust was a good thing all round. But something good did come of it (at least for the Jews). The culmination of centuries of anti-semitism into mass genocide shocked the world. When the Christians finally got what they said they had wanted for an age they recoiled in horror at what they saw and almost overnight there was a radical reduction in anti-semitism and a huge surge in support for the Jewish people.

Jews were successful people in spite of Christians even before the Holocaust. They do not need Christian adoration.

They were moving there en masse in the 1880s. The only thing the secular government of Britain did was divvy up who governed what part.

Well, I get what you're saying, but the titleā€¦ well, I'll answer it directly. No, they shouldn't thank Hitler. Despite the fact that I think what you're saying about the liberal use of "anti-semitism" and western support for Israel and so forth (just some topics I inferred from your premise) is a valid observation in some sense, what Hitler did was atrocious and regardless of the outcome, positive or negative, for the Jews as a whole, lives were cost in horrendous ways. So I definitely wouldn't say that there is any thanking that needs to be done.

What do you mean downplaying? It was the British Mandate of Palestine. You know, spoils of war after beating the Ottomans in WWI. By the time the British took over, there was already a massive, and growing influx of Jews to the area. After WWII, they set it up for self-rule; one part for the Jews and one part for the Muslims.

By the OPs poor logic, we can just as easily state that the secular government of the UK was pro-Muslim since they set up half of the partition for Muslims (which they refused to accept).
