Do we have to choose one or the other? Are there any transitional species? How old is the earth/universe? If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? Where do we come from? What is our purpose? Is the big bang empirically testable? is 7 day creation empirically testable? Is the bible to be interpreted literally? What do the facts say? Can you "believe" in creation/evolution and still contribute to society? What are the harmful effects of "believing" one way or the other? Why did so many people sign that paper saying to be skeptical of evolution? How was the grand canyon formed? What does 'incised meandering' mean? Can the millions of "bits" of data in the genome all come together randomly? (pretty sure i could ask leading questions for hours, but i think we get the point by now)

Do we have to choose one or the other?
No, creation says how life got here, evolution says what it does now that it's here.

Are there any transitional species?
Many early hominds, like Neanderthals, are good example of transitional species.

How old is the earth/universe?

No one can say for sure, our estimates put the earth at about 4.5 billion years old.

If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

Because we came from different monkeys than the ones that are around today.

Where do we come from?
No one knows.

What is our purpose?
No one knows.

Is the big bang empirically testable?
No.

is 7 day creation empirically testable?
No.

Is the bible to be interpreted literally?
No one knows.

What do the facts say?
So many things.

Can you "believe" in creation/evolution and still contribute to society?
Yes.

What are the harmful effects of "believing" one way or the other?
There aren't any.

Why did so many people sign that paper saying to be skeptical of evolution?

No idea to what you are referring.

How was the grand canyon formed?
Rivers.

What does 'incised meandering' mean?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=incised+meandering

Can the millions of "bits" of data in the genome all come together randomly?
Yes.

Hope I helped.

Teach it to who? Creation isn't a form of science (pseudoscience is not science), so it doesn't get taught versus evolution in that sense.

Maybe teach it under a framework of metaphysics, but not as competing theories.

Are you saying that if you fail at understanding Evolution , you can justify your belief in Creationism?

Solid.

I disagree. There are most definitely harmful effects to believing creationism. This thread is an example.
