vali better than magni eh?

it's not that simple. vali is an introduction to tubed amps, i'd just stick to the magni. the vali will give a slightly warmer sound, and the 600 is already on the slightly warmer side so it depends on what kind of sound signature you're going for. also, tube amps warm up alot more, take into consideration if you use for hours on end. also, they make a ringing noise when you plug into the vali, but not an issue if you keep them plugged in or just don't have your headphones on your ears when you do plug them in. it just depends on what kind of sound signature you want though.

strictly for 600s the vali is much better ; my 600s stay plugged into vali and i nvr hear ringing, if i purposefully plug/unplug its not even loud anyway, it doesnt get hot either

as an all around amp, magni is better

Given they're about equal in price and I'm set on the 600s I guess I'm going tubular

doesn't hurt any hehe and if you get another set of headphones in future, that might have just a tad too much brightness or too nuetral/cold for your taste, the amp will help compensate.
