The data that humans were causing global warming has been there for well over a decade....  Hell, we knew to watch for it in 1880...

Youre right of course, initial data and unrepeated or theoretical tests were sure there.

I just looked up in my 4th grade science textbook and sure enough it states "Draw all of your conclusions on initial data sets and NEVER rerun a test beyond the first repeated circumstance"

youre still acting on nothing but confirmation bias and a TOLD U SO mentality

10 years ago the science wasnt nearly as empirically proven as it is today. what a shocker throwing funding produces better scientific results.

just because you came to a conclusion before it was 100% verified doesnt mean skeptics were wrong to be skeptical.

Science itself is built on skepticism so im not sure if youre just impulsive or a "bad winner" who feels the need to gloat when proven right.

skeptic is a misnomer that gives them too much credit

these people just flat out deny that there is a scientific consensus or deny the validity of the science on the matter for personal or financial reasons (funding from energy industries)

i think there are some people qualified to speak on the subject who differ in the interpretation of the data but they're quite rare

there are and always will be people who DO wrong but KNOW right

every moment spent arguing with someone you know scientifically to be wrong wastes time you could have spent directing action into usurping their power.

how about instead of arguing with people who have built their platform on vested interest in an attempt to Chip away that foundation you just work to take them off the top and stand on what theyve built.

The measurements have been performed since the 70's.... 2004 was well after we knew global warming was a thing and that humans were the likely cause. I know most people are scientifically illiterate, and I've come to accept that.

My bad, it was actually closer to 1820. We've known carbon dioxide is infrared active for over 200 years so burning coal during the industrial revolution leaving to an increased amount of trapped heat was common knowledge among the chemists/physicists at the time. It was a discussed topic but it was limited because we just didn't know much about the environment. The idea was that either humans would lead to an increased temperature, or the environment would have some yet undiscovered stabilizing mechanism to stop it from happening.

Dates are iffy, my memory isn't good at remembering specific years, but you get the idea. It was a discussion happening as a result of the industrial revolution pre 1900 just to give an idea of how old the discussion actually is.
