Google search returned only outrageously biased articles.
Iso real source, then I'll respond seriously.
Was actually real. Did some digging.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/25/pit-bull-ban-saving-zeus-louisiana_n_6215136.htmlThe local news report pulled the original story after the outcry it looks like.
And this is the updated story.
Quote
UPDATE -- Nov. 25: The Board of Aldermen of Moreauville may vote to overturn the village's breed-specific ban, one alderman told area news outlet The Times-Picayune, adding that the Dec. 1 deadline will not be enforced.
"It was a mistake," said Alderman Penn Lemoine. "And it's got to be redone and reworded. And this Dec. 1 date is not going to happen."
Lemoine explained that the board would probably work out some kind of ordinance "to keep the dogs off the street." He went on to say of Zeus' owners: "If (they had) come forward and told us basically (Zeus was) sort of a therapy for their daughter, it think it would have made (the situation) a lot of different. ... I know in my eyes I wouldn't want to see (Zeus taken away)."
So pretty much when the story broke, the shit hit the fan.
Here's what else I found -

KALB - Moreauville, Louisiana - The Village of Moreauville has finally set a date for a special village council meeting to discuss and vote on what they will do about a pit bull and Rottweiler breed ban.
The meeting is in response to a global outcry to overturn an ordinance passed by the village in October that promised to ban the dogs on December 1.
A letter handed out by the town said if families didn't get rid of their pets, the town would take them to a vet for "further disposition."
The village decided to hold the start date of December 1 until they could meet to decide what's next.
News Channel 5 introduced you to a local family with a pit bull named Zeus.
A petition to "Save Zeus" has received more than 280,000 signatures.
The public meeting is set for Monday, December 1 at 5 p.m. at the Moreauville town hall.
A lot of bullshit that they could even do this. But I'm glad people made enough of an outcry to give them pause, hopefully something good will come out of the new meeting. I suppose if the dog couldn't be considered a therapy dog because of the owner's condition, this may have gone in a different direction. It's terrible that these places are even allowed to pass BSL without doing any research.
