For the past couple of years I've only read text books so i don't even know where to start looking for a book. Im thinking just a straight up good novel no specific genre if you guys could give me some tips. Nothing too long also i to be able to finish it in a timely manner so i can scratch it off my list and add another book and work from there. Im trying to make reading a habit also.

I enjoyed sherlock holmes when i was younger. Start with A Study in Scarlet which introduces Holmes, and you can read The Valley of Fear later.

Ender's Game is a decent sci fi.
