okay, so my sister is opening an Italian Family style restaurant and she wants me to make the menu's for the place. I've started something up just been playing around so far, ive done graphics work in the past thats why they want me to do this.

im looking for a few tips/pointers on making menus by anyone that has any experience with it, i will be making the menu myself.
But if you helped me with the final product then a Tip may be in store for you! :D

Im not looking for someone to make the menu for me so i will not be paying fg unless im tipping you for being helpful.

TLDR: Looking for someone with experience creating menus from scratch to give me some tips on making mine.

Needs to look Professional!!!

Heres what i started for the Front, Just a few pieces i threw together just kinda bull shitting it right now got about a Month till the place opens, but i want to finish this asap.

If Anything unprofessional Catches your eye please lmk.

It is a Tri-Fold Menu that is expected. So this is only the front, i have a back too but that isn't important

So the right side that has the logo will be the very front and the middle will be the very back.

I was thinking about that thats why i threw that one thing in the bottom right corner for now, But the thing is, is the kitchen is being put together right now so after they do that i already planned on doing a "Photoshoot" in the resturant of a few plates of food ect. ect. and throw them in there...

Figured i could throw some in as some overlay layers just to fill in the background space a lil bit and then throw in some nice looking plates of food like some alfredo or something

If you have the money pls go to a graphic designer and dont do it by yourself. You also want your food to look perfect. Why save on the menu?

I have done many graphic designs in the past, ive made a million signatures ect.... It's just ive never made a menu before so im just trying to make it as professional as i can... I havnt really worked on it if u cant tell this is only the rough template till i figure out exactly what i wana do im just here asking for ideas

The picture in the bottom right isnt staying its just a place holder... Still working on making a nice logo the one in the top is just a place holder. Still Deciding if i want to put the food in boxes (Tables) or if i want to leave it open like it is in that picture.

How many pages? what kind of menu is it? will it be like a leather menu or just something in plastic you open up?

http://media.wix.com/ugd/f3d693_6fc56e7b46774b6199b32dbeb0d94d73.pdf

This is the one I made for my own restaurant! Ikno Ikno... it's in french but can still help ya!
!!
Mine is in leather, 6 pages including the breakfast menu and a small insert (half of a regular page) for promotions and specials!

The menu gotta reflect the image of the restaurant. Don't put something really classy when it's a family place or a pub
