The sad thing is Liberals say everyone should pay their fair share.

What they really mean is the poor should steal money from the working class and give it to themselves.

Plus people over 65 are only 14% of the us population, people under 15 are 20%. The other 32% (1/3) are under 65 and older than 15 (working age) and not paying taxes.

Are you married? Are you single with a dependant and pay 50% or more of your cost of living (rent, utilities). Are you just single? How much do you make a year?

People with a part time job in high school most likely wouldn't pay income tax. Some states it's 16. God you're dumb.

1/2 of the working class is producing nothing. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Making enough to pay income tax doesn't mean not producing. I thought you were an economics major....

He's at that stage where he's getting the basics from the lower level courses and thinks that's all there is. That and listening to Michael savage for his economics advice up until this point

Net production is zero or negative. The labor and resources invested in them outweigh the value they create.

I am single and make $20 per hour working 30 hours a week. 52 weeks x $20 x 30 hours = $31k a year.

I love how you say that people in high school most likely won't pay income tax. It is called payroll and yes they do.

You are right, returns are sometimes larger than contributions. However, they are still considered taxpayers.

You consider someone who has their employer withhold income tax but is eligible to claim it all back as someone who pays income tax

Yes and it falls into the statistic I posted.

Why do you think this country's budget deficit is so massive?

The description is: "people who file IRS tax returns with taxable income."

That was Aristotle's solution, pure meritocracy.  People would be judged by their merit.  Those with the most merit would rule, those with the least would be slaves.  It was just that simple to him.

I woulda liked him

Yeah you quoting the description just tells me you haven't actually read the methods section, because what that tells me is people who were taxed on their return. Just FYI, you fill out your return at the end of the year. If you pay taxes all year, then file your return and get it all back, that means you didn't have taxable income.

So the solution is meritocracy? I'd like to see meritocracy and technocracy combine into a single unified theory for the future.

The entire monetary system, taxes, etc are outdated and can be replaced and managed better by a technocracy as well.

Unfortunately 'merit' doesn't guarantee survival.

There's no way to reward based on merit because its entirely subjective.

In capitalism the choice is given ordinary citizens in the form of consumer choice, by the producer's perceived merit to them, but most people tend to waste that power.
