More objectionable to me is the US government engaging in torture methods declared illegal according to the Geneva convention.



Most of the people in GITMO are yet to have any charges brought against them. There is something seriously wrong with bring able to hold and torture people without even having proven their guilt.

What's wrong with it? They've been judged guilty by the United States, good enough for me.

Well that's what's wrong with it. No due process, some haven't even been accused of a crime to be found guilty of. I find it hard to believe you can place so much faith in the US gov and ignore the ultimate hypocrisy of it's actions with regards to GITMO. GITMO is unconstitutional and violates the Geneva convention that the US signed.

Does the United States guarantee non-citizens due process? As the world continues to remind us, we are not a global police force, we act in our own interest exclusively.

Then stop pretending otherwise.

Then we can get down to the business of condemning you for torturing people and violating the geneva convention. Perhaps even have the UN send in some troops to capture some of your biggest war criminals.... like George Bush and Obama and shut down the facilities that are committing human rights violations on a daily basis.

Was going to comment on that too but you're doing a pretty good job pointing out his inconsistencies in thought and belief.

Just like to add about his belief/fear of Liberalism - Like for example - if you give rights to gay people to get married , it wont affect Traditional Marriage in the least bit.

its not like there's a Pool of Limited Rights from which we draw from - there's actually an unlimited amount of rights to go around and maybe just maybe we're being a little to stingy handing them out.

Its like that great book by Charles Dicken - where the hungry child walks up to that grumpy old man and utters that famous phrase

"please Sir can i have some more Rights....." or something like that.
