not really stupid to care, more along the lines of not having enough room for my new xbox.
im not complaining I simply just wanted to know why xbox choose such a big design compared to the previous 360 modles

yea but my point is I have room in my fireplace tv stand for 4 consoles, my xbox one is on my surround sound/Blu-ray player and its touching the the glass, so im scared my xbox will overheat not being able to vent through the top vent

Give it time. The original 360s were bulky too. It's a money thing. In a year or two they'll release the new hotness slim one
