Awkward is as awkward does, and meeting someone or a group from d2jsp is probably best done without too much expectation one way or the other
As for Los Craptors, I like the idea of using this topic to discuss them. However I don't like that it invites rage, unless it's rage from Raptors fan about how Derozan missed that last shot or something.
I've put myself out there to suggest that they will win the Atlantic and achieve 50x w this year. If they don't that's a disappointment, because they are capable of winning 55 games this year. They have talent, depth, increased maturity, more defensive tools, more skill, more experience (ty playoffs) and of course a couple of new faces. So far, Masai Ujiri has done a great job at facilitating change while keeping the core together.
If they finish any less than 5th in the East, I'll be surprised and disappointed. Last year they tied for 3rd/4th with DA BULLS. The Bulls and Cavs improved, but the Heat and Pacers weakened; it's reasonable to expect the Raptors will finish 3rd. Wizards/Bobcats/Pacers/Knicks/Heat should all be in the conversation, but the Raptors look like #3. And, if the Bulls can't stay healthy, then the Raptors look like #2. Some insiders have the Raptors in the ECF, but I still have them losing in the 2nd round -- which is more the consensus view I have seen given by insiders.
My best guess is:
Cavs
Bulls
Raptors
Heat/Wizards
Knicks
Pacers? + rest
