You get large variation of teams from bottom of top 1000 to about top 500 ~ In this category, the players still mixing/matching players to find a great team
So you get a lot of people swapping teams and playing together, makes for a lot of diversity in who you play against

When you get to top 200+, that's when it seems you're fighting the same 2-3 teams over and over
These are all the same people who play in the same teams together every night and their team MMR becomes very accurate
So it makes sense that you are vying for positions with your team's MMR vs theirs, almost every match
You're getting placed with the dudes right above you or under you, just about every time unless they are not logged on

It's not that only 4-10 teams play it's just that your probably playing in very accurately placed MMR teams
Which is making you see those same guys over and over

~ Trying throwing a couple noobs on your team with random ass MMR, that'll toss things up

you are right, but i was refering to the ESL mainly. When it comes to solo/teamq the playerbase is pretty active due to achievement points farm or whatever, but the scrim/competitive scene is much smaller than what it used to be, there used to be 20+ active teams queuing or scrimming now its just 1-2 per day and esl around 10
