Lol anyone can use ubuntu, even my parents. You could use it everyday and never have to use the terminal afaik

the only thing i really like about my mac over windows is the terminal it comes with. my coworkers are apple fanboys, and i was shocked they didn't know how to use the terminal.

Putty / Cygwin / winscp etc are very good terminal/ssh emulators, however, with root disabled by default and no sudo commands i find it a bit frustrating, ubuntu terminal >
/edit on topic, most people u meet who use mac osx / ios will not be using it for its (unix) capability, but for its simplicity.

That's such bs, never met an Apple guru who didn't know his way around Terminal.

First chuckle of the mornin', t4t

I disagree, most of the European people who use OSX (I work with them) have no specific (real) reason to own an apple/use osx, mainly because they hated the windows experience, they had a much more open mind (aka fanboys). However I agree in that it should not be this way.

If you are using a usb to install linux then install and once you reboot, unplug usb device and hit f-8. Go into BIOS. Choose linux as your new OS. Let the system reconfig boot process and youll be fine. You can also create a new partition on your hard disk so you can switch from linux os to windows. Message me if you need help.
