One way or another prospective parents should be informed. If there is no public record of the event I don't see how future parents could know about this unless the daycare revealed it, and they don't have an incentive to do so.

If I was a parent I would want to know.

No it causes more problems than it solves. In the US there's been several cases of children unattended in parks and the media freaking out or an overly concerned parent doing something.

I'm guessing that neither of you have children yet and you will not understand why this would seem as important until you have a little person depending on you to keep them safe.
