4 year old girl was forgotten in the public park by a good reputation (and big) day nursery, educators realized the mistake only after coming back to the day nursery house, the park is like 2,000m from the nursery house, they came back in the park and the child is fine by now, maybe shocked i dont know.

The mother was informed but decided to not inform any media, she happen to be the mother of a 1 year old baby sharing another day nursery where my own 2 years old is going, thats how this history came to me.

My feeling is that very young children security should be the priority, so i have to inform medias myself to make as sure as possible this won't happen again. I am concerned about respecting the mother decision to make this quiet, but every parents seems concerned to me.

Let the media know, they can always choose not to run the story. If the daycare didn't want anyone to find out about their mistake they should have been more careful.

/e voted local media. National media probably won't give a shit since everything turned out fine

...so a mistake was made but everything worked out okay , the mother doesn't want to get anybody in trouble but you want to inform the media ? ...how about " mind your own business " .

Nothing bad happened, everything turned out ok, kid probably got a bit tougher after this experience.

Yeah it's a mistake, but not a harmful one. Today's parents are helicoptering enough already, don't need more of that.

I disagree with the others. I think that potential customers of the daycare have the right to know that this happened.

I can't find it now, but national media published a report about young educators using ipad / iphones while supposed to keep there eyes on kids, forgetting a 4 young kid 2km behind seems more alarming to me.

I'd let everyone possible know! This was a 4 year old a pre-schooler she doesn't need to be "toughened up" these people were responsible for watching her, I just wonder if they'd left a customer's bag of $100's on a park bench how the above posters would have responded.

do any of you guys have kids? Do you realize the potentially bad things that way too easily could have happened to a 4 year old left alone? Some bad press may make the daycare more attentive, and other parents do have a right to know what happened.
