Blacks in Ferguson still need to riot.

"Go back to your ghetto and be happy with scraps you're left with."

Unlikely.

It is hard when an entire class of the most powerful people are sitting on top of you, like the case in Ferguson.

I live in a "black" city and we aren't segregated like some of these other cities are. Jim Crow never left Ferguson. I know other cities are like this.....

What are the difference between cities who've effectively dealt with the end of Jim Crow and the cities who haven't like Ferguson? Have you ever seen a map of the racial makeup of this place? Seen comparative economic statistics between where the whites live and where the blacks are allowed? It is hard to believe that a place like this exists in modern day United States. And I'm sure other cities have failed to deal with the Jim Crow legacy....Memphis, Birmingham, Newport News, Saint Louis.....

I troll and race bait as much as the next douchy, spineless liberal, but this is actually a serious issue.

Change comes from within. Yea, it's hard as hell but that's the honest truth. Education isn't particularly valued in ghetto environments.

Seems right now there's just not a lot of leadership. There were great leaders in the past, but who do we have now? Obama's the first black president and totally failing to rally the black community to greater things.

I think it'd be great if folks like Ben Carson and Herman Cain (who actually grew up in very poor and very racist areas) did stuff like that. And maybe they do and they aren't successful.

It shouldn't be a political issue at all IMO but it is...which makes it incredibly frustrating and unproductive.

How isn't it a political issue? Structural racism is about power and politics is the activity to decide how power is distributed in a society.

It's more of a social issue than political issue. It shouldn't be the government's job to correct every single flaw in our society.

Politics is social. It falls under the social umbrella along with family, health care, education, economy, and religion.

These structures are social structures that each perform a function within society.
