I had this badass auto teacher who tackled this Afghan kid into a locker for punching a kid in the face, kicking a kick stand beneath a car while another student was working then throwing a wrench at the auto teacher before he ran out of the room.

Nobody cared.

Our wrestling coach in H.S. was a real jock he would go down to a grove of trees at the far end of the campus and bust smokers, one day a boy pushed back when coach pushed his shoulder
our coach put the kid in a half nelson and then fell back on top of him it broke the kids spine and paralyzed his lower half. Coach got fired but didn't do jail time I think the kids parents settled with the school
but if coach had just walked away and diffused the situation 2 lives wouldn't have changed.

Looks like the teacher was adequately provoked. At some point you have to realize that people are people and you can't place god like expectations on their self control.

There were a couple altercations between students and teachers in my school. Teachers usually came out on top. Inner city public school teachers are tough.

This is a food question. If you could somehow subdue the student without the aim of causing physical harm I feel like that's ideal. If you are of smaller stature and don't have the potential to subdue the student, I honestly don't know what you could do in the heat of the moment besides shout for help. I wonder what they are trained to do in a situation.

It's not as if the student is some innocent little kid. That was probably the third fight that girl had been in that day judging by her behavior.

sure the student provoked the teacher ...but the teacher took it back to the student that is the Jerry Springer mentality, you don't meet violence with more violence and expect a happy ourcome. The fecking theacher is the adult here is is being paid to make the right decision. And the right decision is not to escalate the violence no matter how pissed off she is...if nothing else at the very least just think an older woman could have proven herself to be an example of how a woman of dignity responds to actions like that, instead she reinforced the behavior now the girl will feel justified in her actions.

What if this had been 6th graders? or 3rd. graders should she have handled it any different? I'd like to know some of the caners opinions??
