The EU should propose a temporary travel ban from all US people, since the US is a country with ebola sufferers.

its not surprising if its the front page of a lot of news sources as its..

wait for it...

news.

Ah that would make sense, almost all of my travel is 1 place at a time. flying or driving from the US.

This is top news story on the regular network news too. it does sound like some major idiocy is going on. not to chicken little I'm sure this can be handled but she did travel after she started to have a low grade fever, at least thats what the news at 5 people are saying.

What gets me is this lady is a nurse and she knew she was dealing with an ebola paitent why didn't she have the decency to not fly?

Agreed.

Ontopic, this is a big storm in a glass of water. The US has plenty of facilities to be able to deal with the few infected that are currently in the country. Neither will this affect Obama much.

as usual republicans want to rush in and interfere with the free market by disrupting the transportation industry

left to it's own devices it would manage itself

the supply of flights available to risky countries would naturally decline as the demand for passengers who want to be on board such flights decline over fears of ebola and the problem would solve itself

There are more cases in Europe than the US.

It does seem that the horse has already left the barn no matter what we've done.

Ralph Waldo Emerson — A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.

I forget the guy who used to have that in his signature...

I was trying to call the US out. The Western countries have mostly aid workers and health professionals who were working in Africa as ebola victims, there's nothing to fear.

Plus ebola is relatively hard to get infected by in the first place. All the precautions are not because of how contagious it is, but because of ebola's lethality.

I think what the right is worried about is more that ebola sufferers will fly to America for their superior medical treatment. It's a common slogan in right wing nationalism - they assume that because they think they are better than everyone else that everyone else wants to steal or ruin what they have. Sometimes it's even true...

This. The right is overhyping the danger ebola represents in order to gain political strength when they claim that they are the only ones willing to do something about it.
