http://pcpartpicker.com/p/R8MdJxSwapped to the gaming 7 mobo, newegg had a deal where it was the same price as the 5. Also went with a 500gb ssd due to laziness of not wanting to fuck with prioritizing games/updates/etc.
It's my first time ever building a rig, and when I opened up my power supply and had 13 sets of wires, I knew I was doomed. The manual for the psu doesn't even have a step-by-step that describes the set of wires it wants you to use... Labels it as "put 4x4plug in X", when there's 3 different kind of 4x4 plugs in the box, and all of them have different opposite end wires, and all labeled differently.
I'm concerned about the h100i as well, I really don't want to have to take that off just to rotate the backplate 90 degrees. I don't see how it sitting on two support screws under the cpu can matter, but hell, I have zero fucking idea if it does or not.
Have you seen this:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=33861612&f=189It can help to have a friend there for your first time, if nothing else for moral support. It's really not hard, chances are you're either feeling overwhelmed or trying to rush through it... take your time and read the manuals (especially your mobo manual). Don't work on it unless you have a good 3-5 hours to do so. It's best for your first build to go reallllly slowly so you understand what you're doing. Not only will you make less mistakes, but you'll get a better understanding of exactly how your build is configured for the next time you need to open her up.
Also, please tell me you got Win8.1 as well! Would make me sad to see an old, clunky OS on that beautiful system.
