There is a link to the weapons. Right below where it shows how much damage each weapon does, it shows a Ratio of Strength/Dexterity for that weapon.

The ratios do not seem to do much, so everyone in general just gets stat items with that higher % side of that ratio.

So for Swords, it says Strength/Dexterity Ratio: 75/25 , but STR gear usually will add more dmg.
Axes is Strength/Dexterity Ratio: 50/50 , so it really does not matter there
So on and so fourth.

Another question, can you use more than one charm at a time? And are there other items you hold which you need that aren't always equipped that I need to buy? Like what is the Charm and Acc. Charm?

Also, I'm seeing +4 and +1 in the upper left hand corner of items? What is this number? And there is roman numerals in the upper right hand corner, what are these?

You can use more then one charm yes. In the Acc. Charm the only mod that works is EE, so people usually stick Heal Charms in there and switch to them when they need to heal and switch back.

The +1 or +4 in the top left of the item is just the amount of stats on the item. The Roman Numeral is the Tier level/Item level of that item

Edit : If you need anymore help, feel free to Pm TiMasse@jsp .. He enjoys helping new slashers!

I am off to bed now!

Looks like you are playing off peak... which is harder to get into a group

There are currently 13 Players Online Slashing

20:34 There are 12 users online, and 1/2 groups. 7/2 players are looking for a group.

That is combined SC and HC, for HC, I am in my own group [solo'ing] and there are 2 others solo'ing... I don't think there are anymore groups on HC.

Off peak can be harder, so it looks as if you will be solo'ing often... just check MP for cheap 1-5fg items for the meantime that you can use.

What is the best choice in weapon for my Barbarian? I see Swords can be used for the next character (Samurai), if you pass MQ, but they have low damage. Then I see Polearms have extremely high damage but do they hit slower? And they also require a lot of Dexterity, not Strength which is what I was told I should be going for and stating to.

I would go with the swords, the can be used on the next 2 classes. and average damage is the same on all but the heavy weapons.

With swords you would stat Strength

edit:

all 5 of the heavy weapons hit harder but have a 1 second delay so you will get 2 hits with a normal weapon. it's personal choice. but there is more re usability out of the swords if you pass.

Okay, and why not use a heavy weapon? The damage is almost double per tier. Do they hit slower?

the most often used gear setup is axes,daggers and a casting set so you can climb the entire way but there are variations.

feeder = any
samurai = daggers
paladin = axes
monk = daggers
ninja= daggers
warlock = charms
headhunter = axes
alchemist =charms

Edit: but because this is the most used setup this is also the most expensive way to go.
