Not sure if you're trying to be rude or funny..But there is nothing insulting about that..it's exactly what they admit themselves to be, and there is nothing wrong with it. It's a great thing when someone realizes how ignorant we are.

No, it comes from the root "gno" which is "know."

"Ignorant" means "not know."

"Agnostic" also means "not know," as in "not know god."

god-adherers, not-know-gods and not-god-adherers. I like the new vocabulary outfit for our classification system :p

on a serious note, agnostic i.e. not-knowing can be loosely (and literally) interpreted as "ignorant" imo. It stands for something else though.
