i dont know what he was doing the the heathens ?

he was more a philosopher than an emperor to me, but it would be interested to read more about him, the major sources for the life and rule of Marcus Aurelius are patchy and frequently unreliable relying to Wiki

Trajan expanded, but where could the other good emperors have expanded anymore?
too bad Marcus Aurelius named his son as the Emperor, they had a good roll going on with the Five Good Ones.

Marcus Aurelius' reign saw some heavy action in the North and in Dacia, perhaps properly consolidating and incorporating all that Trajan had achieved.
the Dacians had their organised kingdom(s), but today they speak a derivative of Latin ;)
