Those things you mentioned are exactly as I said in terms of religious influence independent of the veracity of religious claims. The importance of religion is what it is able to make people do, so it is as arbitrary as something like music, a pet or gardening.

We aren't officially a Christian nation but we were primarily Christian at the time and Truman was a Christian (we've had no secular presidents for hundreds of years, I'd say we are a Christian nation).

And no they weren't.

The Japanese Imperial Cult gave absolutely zero fucks about Christianity or the value of human life.

If the Americans started the war in the Pacific, I think you'd have a valid argument. But seeing as how Japan invaded, enslaved, and brutalized its neighbors first, I don't see how Christianity factors in at all.
