1) its century link
2) its only 20 mbps download with like 3-5 upload

it's on it's own dedicated line as there is nobody else in neighbourhood besides my place.

what are the odds of it being sustainable internet that i can rely on for hardcore gaming (dota 2, marvel heroes, diablo 3, WoW, etc)

20mbs is pretty good considering.

If it is a FIOS or Fiber Optic connection then it is way better because it is a constant, consistent connection. Pretty shitty that they wont do symmetrical connection, but I'm sure they will soon.

Download is good, unless you are using it to stream your matches i think it will be fine. If they offer it i would what the next package up is (verizon fios offers 50/25(soon to be 50/50) for like 100 bucks a month on a contract

i have xfinity, i pay 160 (including california taxes), net is 110/15 with only a year contract, its a bundle that includes the HD package of 220 channels and a home phone line (which i dont use, was just included), and this includes prices for equipment used and etc.
the price is locked for a year, then the contract is over (i can choose to renew with different prices, or i can cancel with no penalty), it also included free HBO, Starz, Xfinity on demand (which is basically netflix), and Xfinity Pix (dunno what this is yet) for the entire year.
they also have internet and like 80 SD channels starting at like 70 bucks (internet would be 50/15). just all depends what u want, i caught their deal at a good time, because i think this package is 200 w/o tax now.
couldnt be happier, i can game on PC (or steam MLB games) while fiance is on xbox live, and i have kids shows streaming on other PC for my child. before my neighbors moved i let them leech it, had like 17 devices connected at once, no problems.

just my opinion if xfinity (comcast) is in your area, they have deals all the time and throw in a ton of free shit.

20mbps is pretty slow but you will be able to play any game fine. Don't even think about streaming though with that upload.

People used to play MMO's back in the day on 3mbps/1mpbs internet.
20/5 should do fine, considering you're on a dedicated line.

As long as you don't split it between too many devices at a time, you'll be fine for online games.

Even 1/1 is enough for gaming if your ping is in good numbers. Its ping that matters, not the dl/ul speeds.

Using 10/2 at home myself as its cheapest option available, only using that dl potential when there is some updates coming.
