My son has been asking me to get him a "Unicorn Gundam" for his birthday, but I haven't been able to find one. I checked Toys R Us, but the clerk there didn't know what I was talking about.

I'm not sure where else to look, so I was wondering if anyone here has experience buying Gundam toys. I'd prefer to not buy anything over the web, since I've been ripped off too many times buying things over the internet, plus I might just buy the wrong one anyway.

I have ~100 gundam models that ive built as a kid. But in the past 10 or so years, I have not seen them sold anywhere outside of model shops and when i visit Asia. Might be out of luck. Actual Gundam toys are probably even harder to find than the gundam models, which you can still play with

Ah that stinks. To be honest, I was a little surprised how expensive they were. When I was his age, I could buy a Revell car model for about $10.

I've got half a mind to tell him he's too old to be playing with unicorns and watching cartoons anyway. He's turning 15.

Well he asked for a unicorn gundam toy, so I just assumed it was some kind of toy horse or something.

He spends most of his time in his room watching these oriental cartoons instead of meeting girls and making friends. He gets good grades in school, so I can't complain too much, but I wish he'd hurry up and grow out of it.

you dont just grow out of anime/manga.
there are plenty of adult anime out there, with an ever expanding library.

his priorities will change eventually, but im sure he will continue watching anime regardless.

I hope not... if he's still watching anime as an adult then I've failed him as a father.

I caught him watching some sort of cartoon pornography on his computer the other day. I was horrified, and too embarrassed to confront him about it. And with the way these japanese people make their women characters look like preteen girls, I'm afraid it'll turn him into some sort of pedophile. He should be going out into the world and trying to meet real girls his own age. A kid like him would have been severely picked on at school when I grew up.

I would try a hobby shop if you buy from sites it ends up making up the price with the shipping

Also you gotta find which unicorn variant he wants there's a lot
