Needed, and more of a bug fix. It's main use was for either travel, or for things to take damage "Along" the blaze trail. Not technically "Abuse it" and have every "Particle" of the trail stack on one spot and deal massive damage to mobs. Now dungeons/boss fights are gonna require things that's not just stack+FGS all day. People who did this KNEW how strong it was, it's about time Anet did something about it.

People will still stack in a corner and dps shit down. With the nerf it will take fights a few secs longer. It doesn't matter really.

Now just a nerf to how long icebow #5 lasts and ele is actually in a decent spot then.

It's debatable whether aoe on bosses is overpowered, so that's not just an ele issue (see guardian's smite as well for instance).

guardian smite is op on bosses with huge hitbox , other than that.. dunno

Oh no yeah I know that much, it's still the go to tactic for effective dungeon runs. Just saying how FGS did tons of damage to begin with, and the trail stacking needed to be looked at.

Nerf needed to happen, the skill was the most powerful elite in the game, concerning PvE ~ Nothing even begins to rival what it was capable of doing to boss monsters
But really what the game needs is much deeper than patching the current skill that deals the most damage in PvE
The game needs a serious overhaul in monster AI and content provided that looks beyond "how hard a monster hits and how much life it has"

Thats asking too much from a company that won't even add guild halls... Let alone guild capes.
