I agree that he could have had access. The problem is with society. WE have abandoned our fellow man and allowed the government to "take responsibility."

If someone is raping your child in front of you, should you wait for the police to come or do you physically stop the horrific act?
If your home is burning down, do you wait for the fire department or do you do everything in your power to save your home?
If someone is clearly depressed do you wait for Obama to take care of it? Apparently, the answer is yes.

Now that that's out of the way, it's interesting that you mentioned what some consider to be a mental healthcare crisis in America. A new study on the topic that was just released [See: http://content.healthaffairs.org/content/33/8/1425.abstract] found unsurprisingly that the ACA had a positive impact in a big way on young adults getting better and cheaper coverage to treat mental health conditions.

Standard ACA stuff: more people getting coverage, quality of care improved, and people paid less for it. This has been the first real push to get these "Sub-26ers" the kind of real care to help diagnose and treat illnesses at and before the ages when most begin. It's good news all around.
