Can we ask the question, did the Peshmerga withdraw from a fight they
could have taken, for the sole tactical purpose of bringing the US forces within the line of fire, thereby forcing Washington's hand?
Everyone is mentioning how uncharacteristic the kurd's withdrawal was, and its always been the conventional wisdom that the kurds can hold their own. So was this retreat a politically charged gambit to bring on air strikes?

So now i see isis has taken hostage hundreds of iraqi women under the age of 35....Wow sounds like something hamas would do...The total destruction from today was 1 mortar destroyed and a 7 car convoy ? whoopty doo thats just going to make them run back tot he caves and hide again...I was really starting to doubt obama as a president here for a minute until i seen that he's finally going to step up and be a commander and chief....Better to be late then never id agree with
You really have no sense of the middle east for scale. Even Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip doesn't approach what ISIL wants, much less Hamas. They're both far left leaning compared to Iraq/Syrian rebels.
If anything, ISIS would execute Hamas members as apostates for defending democracy
