Kurds are on it.

Obama refuses to arm them, so not likely.

Apparently the US is planning airdrops to aid people fleeing ISIS, and considering airstrikes against ISIS itself.

Too little. Obama should have armed the Kurds months ago, he's just the most incompetent president of the last 60-70 years.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from a diplomatic standpoint he can't arm them. Neither Turkey nor Iraq wants them to be autonomous.

Turkey has withdrawn its objections. The Turks think they can control the Kurds and Erdogan wants to win over their votes within Turkey.

It's important to recognize that the Iraqi Kurds are historically opposed to the pan-Kurds within Turkey and have good relations with the Turkish government.

The big losers are Iraq and Iran, but aren't we trying to disadvantage them in the first place?

I think it will be a combination. Obama is apparently doing his lob some bombs in and see what happens technique that he wanted to do with Assad. Kurds and other Iraqis will fight for their lives. Assad loyalists will do their thing in Syria.
Other people who are pissy around there like Turkey/Iran will do some stuff. etc.

They're apparently denying it so far, but people seem convinced it was US.
