Section 1: What do I need to know in order to begin?
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
This glitched defense formula ONLY works when meeting the following criteria:- Must be a Helmet, Body Armor, or Shield.
- Must be an Ethereal, white (normal), *Non-Superior* base. No magics, rares, or unique.
- Must have 0 sockets.

Section 2: What is the glitch?
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The cubing glitch adds an additional 50% defense bonus on top of the total defense of the ethereal body armor/shield/helmet.
Example: Non-superior, no sockets, Sacred Armor:
Maximum defense on a normal non-eth Sacred armor is 600 defense. Spawning ethereal gives it a 50% defense bonus (50% of 600 = 300), giving it a total of 900 defense.
Now, you take this ethereal sacred armor with 900 defense and cube it to obtain sockets. This is where the glitch defense comes along. Not only will the armor obtain sockets, it will also take on an additional 50% defense. 50% of 900 = 450. 900 + 450 = 1350 base defense. Say you rolled 4 sockets and made a Stone Runeword.
1350 defense x 290% enhanced defense (from Stone) = 5,265 total Defense.

Section 3: What is the recipe?

Body Armor: 1 Tal Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Ethereal Normal Body Armor = Socketed Ethereal Body Armor of same type
Quote
The number of sockets created will vary. The item must be normal and unsocketed. Low-quality items and superior items do not work. The item gets 1-4 sockets, randomly. However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. The chance to get X sockets in most armor is 1/4, (I.E: Mage plate has a max of 3 sockets, so it has a 2/4 [1/2] chance to get 3 sockets). The base of 6 was used in the ratios for all the above mentioned areas.
Helmet: 1 Ral Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Sapphire + Ethereal Normal Helm = Socketed Ethereal Helm of same type

However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. For example, if you have an item that can only have 2 sockets, there's a 5/6 chance of getting 2 sockets and a 1/6 chance of getting 1 socket.
Shield : 1 Tal Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Ruby + Ethereal Normal Shield = Socketed Ethereal Shield of same type

Section 4: Q&A's
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Question: Why not just use A5 quest to socket a sup armor?
Answer: Using the glitch on a normal armor grants you defense greater then a superior armor - since superior armor can only give up to 15% defense bonus, while this glitch adds 50%.
Question: I rolled my armor and didn't get the desired # of sockets. Can I re-roll sockets?
Answer: No. You must use an entirely new unsocketed base.
Question: Which patch does this work with?
Answer: 1.11 to current.
Question: Does this glitch work with weapons?
Answer: No. If you try this cube glitch with an ethereal weapon, it will just add the sockets. No enhanced damage is applied.
Question: Does this work with open socket armors/helmets/shields?
Answer: No. Must have 0 sockets, as this is also a socketing recipe.
