There is a huge frenzy for survival knowledge and prepping. It would be a place to discuss new items, stories and future events. Would be a way to learn from others and to become better prepared through past experiences.

Even if you think people are paranoid or crazy for being preppers, you could possibly learn a thing or two that may come in handy one day.

camping and hiking and wilderness survival all fit perfect fine in the science, tech, nature subforum or somewhere in the sports forums(archery and shooting aspects for example).

Doomsday prepping however would devolve into a conspiracy argument forums which is pointless.

Prepping for a natural disaster, like a Tornado, Tsunami, Volcano, Hurricane. Not some retarded crap about "raptures" or "zombies attacking"..... Yes they all fit somewhat into those current sub forums, but it would be better to have a dedicated forum for these ideas. So the focus can be solely on them, and not lost among other threads.

I know, but you and i both know that the majority of internet people see the words "disaster preparation" or "survival" and go straight to apocalypse government zombies conspiracy NWO crap.

I agree it would be a nice subforum, but given the possible downsides vs no real upside other than personal preference i simply don't see this being added.

also don't think there would be much of a population, but a lot of subforums have that same issue.

There is a culinary sub forum, with almost no pop. I'm sure there will be some drawn from people here, plus I know plenty of facebook pages that I could advertise to and get some people here. I even have my own survival page, "survival with style" sold stuff as a side business. I know there are plenty of people out there that could use a place to chat.

I just have very little faith in the jsp general population is all lol.

and yeah car audio doesn't have a ton of population, but i've still helped with like $75k-ish in installs so far.

I think it would be a wonderful addition and i would use it, but i would avoid naming it something that would draw in the nutjobs.
