In my elementary school there were books in the class for free reading time that were stories of old Greek mythology.

I learned not to fly too close to the sun. I learned why seasons exist. I learned about the problem of evil.

I fail to see how this is any different.

Lol, typical hysterics from the Right.

I think that if they were ever actually persecuted as a group like they pretend to be they would get an unrelenting hard-on.

doesn't surprise me. if its free reading, then he should read what he wants, but this sounds like he had a set list and chose to ignore it.

What's funny about it? not the first time he's done it and it wasn't the first time he was told to put it away. This was the first time the teacher finally contacted the parent to explain it to them.

That's the local news paper on it. It doesn't sound as exciting except when the other news stations leave off that part.

Thank god radical right winged Christians aren't often made principals of public schools then .

Should be simple ... If the teacher isn't willing to let him read the bible I'm assuming that there is a reason ( preaching to impressionable youth ).

If not ... Then perhaps the teacher in question requires some educating him or herself
