That isn't how a "free" society works.  That's how a police state works.

Most cops want to be cops because they're overtly miserable cunts who enjoy exerting their will over other people, and are going to behave like cunts most of the time.  So please spare me the bullshit about how they put their lives on the line to keep people safe.  They just want to carry a gun and boss people around.

I'm glad I left the USA, and you might be too if you knew the difference.

There are tons of great cops out there, far more than bad.

I'm of a different opinion as to the ratio, but I can acknowledge that there are a few good cops who became cops for the right reasons. The entire system is inherently flawed though, or shit like this would never happen.

Police officials said Garner had a history of arrests for selling untaxed cigarettes. Cops said they observed him selling his wares Thursday on Bay St. and moved in for an arrest.

Records show Garner was due in court in October on three Staten Island cases, including charges of pot possession and possession or selling untaxed cigarettes.

Esaw Garner said her husband was unable to work because he suffered from a host of ailments, including chronic asthma, diabetes and sleep apnea.

Why not just fine him or write a ticket... Seems like a waste of time arresting someone for selling cigarettes.

Why did the police escalate the situation?

Why did they feel the need to arrest someone for breaking up a fight?

Is there a source on this? Didn't see anything about it in the articles I skimmed through. Makes the situation even dumber if true.

nvm guy said it in the vid.

Every police officer involved deserves to be put in a cage for the rest of their natural lives.

Won't happen though.

That seems a little unfair. Some of them genuinely want to help, and do save lifes.

I've never seen one, but they do exist.

Because police officers are trained to escalate situations, and hurt and harm those that don't obey their dictatorial commands....

Perhaps if we changed the way we trained our guard dogs ( cops are little more than this ... rabid animals ) we wouldn't have to witness shit like this

The evidence of most police encounters seems to support my claim and not yours :(

Standard police protocol seems to be yelling commands, pointing weapons, and using choke holds, tasers and other forms of brute force long before other options have been exhausted.
