Ok guys, help me out.

I have played D2, D3, WoW, and just started playing Rift. I am looking for a new game. Rift has been just OK so far. Extremely similar to WoW IMO (however I am only level 10). What do you guys think about GW2? I game between 5-15 hours a week depending on my work schedule. Trying to get as much feedback about the game as I can before I shell out the 40 bucks for it. I have gotten mixed reviews when I ask people to give me their opinion on Rift vs GW2. Let me know guys, anything helps.

Jesus, just shell it out and try it. Worst case you can ask Anet for a refund if you don't like it; they've been good with those kind of things in the past.

I just got it 3 days ago. I have never played a MMO like wow or gw2 before and Im almost lvl 30. I can tell they simplified things. Like they took stuff and just made it better. I saynthat because as a noob like myself, it feels very intuative. Except for the crafting, but I have youtube helping with that.

I'd say yes to getting it. Plus no monthy subscription fees. The content you get for the money is pretty absurdly good.

40 isn't a lot of money, but this game is being compared to games that are free such as Rift and Tera.

i paid about £20 for mine (about 30 bux?)

i paid $60 for gw2 on release and feel like i've gotten my money's worth and then some. the first few months playing were a lot of fun, and i got a good 18 months of playing it on a daily basis before i got bored with it. for a free to play game, it's the best out there.

of course that's just my opinion and experience, but most people who've played will tell you it's easy to learn, there's a niche for all different types of players, and is well worth the money.

this is backed up by the fact that everybody who pops in here and says "shit game gg" haven't actually played the game and still play runescape or diablo 2 in 2014.

I actually just bought a serial code on gametimezone for 36 bucks. I just started playing a couple minutes ago. Created a guardian, alot of fun so far. Still need to learn a ton more about the game. I also chose sea of sorrows for my server.

game is cool

played for around 4+ months now

After playing 2-3 hours. I can easily say, leveling to 80 must take forever. I did some quests, a few events, heart quests and im still level 5? lol

dont rush to 80. enjoy the maps/quests etc
