Every Christmas we would get 7-8 foot tree with the ball of dirt still there. After Christmas we would plant them in the yard.
Those huge pine trees in the backyard (on the left), were in house Christmas trees when I was a kid.

When my dad had his 1st stroke and I cam rushing back from Cali to visit, etc., I couldn't believe that those little 7 foot Xmas trees we had planted were now towering pine trees.
It had felt like I was away for no time at all. But I guess the trees kept track.
