tell your children that above any religion are moral values.
treat others as I would like to be treated
Tell that to have a peaceful life with his conscience.
have an unblemished moral conduct.

Nothing wrong with values, my parents taught me lots of values. They certainly didn't tell me what to believe in.

I'm going to give my kids the truth, and it's up to them to stay faithful after they are adults. Whether they believe or not, church will be a requirement for living in my house.

Honestly I can't tell if this is 100% serious or 100% sarcastic.

I don't troll on religious matters.

He's not saying that he's forcing them to believe in Christianity. He's simply saying that he's forcing them to go to church. That's discipline.

I'd call it indoctrination, but call it what you want.

My parents never forced me to go to church, I went voluntarily until I decided it wasn't for me.

You'd deny your own children if they refused to go to church? You'd kick them out and have nothing to do with them?

I guess forcing your kids to go to school is indoctrination. I guess forcing your kid to take a shower when he doesn't want to is indoctrination. Making your kid eat vegetables? Indoctrination.

I wouldn't throw them out of my life, just my house. :)

You can try to twist it around all you want, forcing your child to be clean, healthy, and educated is a lot different from forcing your religious beliefs on them.

I'm very fortunate to have grown up in a home where such things didn't occur.

My significant other would factor in. But my girlfriend (and all in past) were informed early on that I do not believe in a god. I personally wouldn't teach my child religion. When they came to an age that I believe they could truly grasp the concept and question it, I would allow them to decide for themselves.
I say this as I've a cousin who has been brought up in a religious home and I expect him to begin questioning it all soon. I've often said to my aunt that I would never mention my beliefs in his presence until he asks me.

It really isn't. Spiritual education is incredibly important. Just because you have the spirituality of an earthworm doesn't mean it shouldn't be valued. Whatever happened to "my house, my rules." Do they not have that in Canada?
