The science fantasy story Tokyo ESP begins with Rinka, an extremely poor high school girl who lives with just her father in modern Tokyo. One day, she is going home from school when she chases a "flying penguin" to the top of New Tokyo Tower—only to have "fish swimming in the air" suddenly appear before her. One of the fish goes through Rinka and gives her extraordinary powers beyond those of normal humans, particularly the ability to slip through solid objects.

this girl has played FOR SURE in another anime before
and kagura also sounds familar to me
is this a second season of an anime or is it just my imagination?

there has been a 12-13 episode anime which came out a few years ago, which reminds me of it.

it was also with swords and slaying monsters
in the first episode the whole team got wiped out by monsters in the anime im talking about

i really hoped that this was gonna be the second season of ga-rei

there was no ga-rei anime

it was ga-rei zero the prequel to ga-rei

theyre probably not going to make a ga-rei anime

it explodes like ga-rei event-wise but its a good pickup

It is truly her. Not only is this by the same author but it's also set in the same universe.

I haven't thought too much about it with the timelines and all, but I'm sure you can find forums posts / 4chan posts that explain the timelines.
