A lot of older players want to play and talk with people on a similar level, have conversations where it is likely other people have some experience relevant to their own.
Personally, I can understand it. When you're married and have kids and are paying a mortgage... a 16 year old is unlikely to be able to comprehend and relate to that.
As far as maturity goes though, i agree with you. Ive seen some very childish 30+ and some very mature 16 year olds... the truth is in an average group of 30+ vs 16+ you can almost guarantee that the older players will have less drama.
