The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas

Long, slow at times, but the character development is outstanding.

Great book.

Fight Club follows the book really closely. I actually like the movie more. They cut a bunch of unnecessary material and moved some things. The movie has a better flow and mood to it.

American Psycho had a lot of things taken out in the movie. It's probably the most violent book I've ever read. There's reasons some places don't sell it to anyone under 18. That said, it's a great critique of late 80s/early 90s corporate culture and American society.

Agreed. It's superb! That's the prequel to the Tamuli trilogy right? Both really good.

Fight Club cut out one of the better scenes from the book though. When they take the fat from her mom. Otherwise, the movie is def a bit better. American Psycho as a movie was pretty close to perfect for me. I agree they cut out a lot of stuff. But, the movie flows so well with how the story is meant to be told, it's really hard to say it wasn't done as good as possible. The book is much more detailed and explicit. Sometimes, it can be a little over the top. I did miss the few mentions and scenes with his brother though. Rules of Attraction was a better book imo. Psycho the better movie.
