I have an old Nook Color currently and I enjoy it, but it is getting quite old. The battery drains very quickly and rarely holds a charge that lasts the day, regardless of if I'm reading or not.
On my current Nook the only thing I really do is read. I don't use the Internet or any apps from the Nook, and truthfully I download .epub files on the computer and put them onto the device; so I don't even use the book store.
That being said, which brand would I be better off with Nook or Kindle and which device? I know there are many out there now, so please specify.

I doubt I can, they no longer make Nook Colors from what I know.

You can't put 3rd party files easily on the Kindle, it's a, freaking hassle. I'd say a kobo reader or newer model nook

So you can't convert the .epub files to whatever file goes onto the kindle?

Just buy an iPad as a ebook reader. Get Kindle app. Best of both worlds.

With that said, I hate Apple and refuse to buy their products, my Kindle works fine. I have a program that converts formats if need be. Go Kindle

You could get a nook tablet thing (whatever their equivalent of a kindle fire is) and download the kindle app, save 50%+ over an ipad.

I haven't checked in 3 years, but last time I checked the only way you could transfer files to your Kindle was by emailing them the files, then they convert it and upload to your Kindle.

Good thing if they unlocked the function to transfer files from the computer through the years though.

Edit : O have a kobo and a iPad. Fuck reading books on the iPad.

I spoke with my local book store and they recommended Sony Reader t3 for ebook reading. Not sure though, any comments?
