I use to play this game a long time ago when windia and Mardia were fresh servers and 4th job was only just out. I quit around the time the new classes came out, as the game lost it's simpleness. I liked it when it had only 4 base classes (warrior, thief, mage, ranger) to choose from then there sub classes... and had to sit there all day trying to roll perfect x/x/4/4 stats so you could make the character. I tried to play again a couple years ago, but it was to confusing with all the new shit added in since I last played.

did anyone else play in these times, and still play now? if so, what are your thoughts on how it's changed? for the better/worse? I see scania mesos are ~1:750k... when I played it was around 1:35k or less lol.

Yes.

v55 or before that was always my fav. I enjoy the flashy-ness of new classes and the creativity of their skills, but old gameplay with little to no godlies were more fun.
Rolling x/x/4/4 was so hard. Especially sometimes they d.c you after too many rolls xD

I'm not saying new Maple is bad. It's still fun and an entertaining game. But old Maple had amazing memories

I lost my original account which I got to like 140ish on back when it was hard before the companies switched over. I am not sure what they switched but I never got the information back for whatever reason! Now going to 180+ is so easy. I think I spent a month and half playing and got a 192 160 and a bunch of 80+ characters. Although theres tons to do and you can choose how to level so its still nice. I guess once you get over 200 it becomes ridiculous.

although i enjoyed old MS i have to say, the new is so much better that if they were both around i would not have a reason to play the old anymore. that may just be my opinion though, i like the changes much more than the original

Feels like im playing private server with like 5x exp and 10x mesos now
I liked old even though it was slow, i actually chatted and partied people to lvl
now, im solo'ing from 1-165 and then HoH party onwards

As someone who started pretty much the first year it came out, I definitely miss the simplicity of the old game. It used to take forever to reach lv 30 even, and dying actually meant something because losing 5-10% exp was pretty much a solid hour or so of work. However, I am willing to admit that I do like the new version a bit more. It's very complicated and I may never take the time to understand it all, but you really don't need to. I just enjoy playing it here and there, being able to kill monsters my level, and event gear actually gives you decent enough damage to be "good."

so many good memories flowing through my head but yeah I tried to take it up again a couple years ago and it basically lost the simplicity it originally had which is why I loved it. people were getting to 3rd job like it was nothing on all these new classes I'd never heard of.



how long does it take to get to 70 now? I remember it use to take a month if not longer of pure torturous grinding to get there, now it seems like it's easily possible within a few days? what makes it so much easier now? experience from monsters better? different pq's? exp boosts?

I kinda wanna play again but can't be bothered learning a whole heap of new jargon. wish u could just play the old style 20-30 kerning pq, grind to 35, 35-50pq etc.
