Fan 960 went all Goldilocks, said Hartley was too hard, Gulutzen too soft, Peters hopefully just right. Hope so, it's maybe a lateral move, but we definitely needed the change anyway.

Hartley was a minipulative asshole, he did some pretty fucked up mindgame type stuff with the guys. If you can find the interview they had with Sarich (Sarich was in studio) it was very enlightening.

Gully I think was a good coach (X's and O's wise) and a good guy but it didnt translate. In the end, he was seen as too soft by his players and he didnt hold them accountable or motivate well enough. Plus I think some of his roster moves alienated certain players (Bennet being the big one).

Peters is being billed as a guy who wont take a lack of discipline or lack of effort very well. I hope that is the case, these guys need a kick in the ass in the worst way.

I think the three wingers we're likely looking at via trade are Pacioretty, Simmonds and Panarin.... Of those, I rank them Patches>Breadman>Simmonds in terms of likelihood of getting them, I'd love to see Simmonds in a Flames uniform though. It'll be curious to see the value of these guys, according to Friedman this morning the Ottawa Hoffman deal put a big time damper on the trade value for wingers.

I think we also move Stone at some point this summer, hopefully to Ottawa for EK straight up. We need to free up a right shot spot in our T6 for Andersson.


E: would be pretty cool if they'd stop talking about Dougie being traded, no chance he moves unless we are getting an elite player back.
