Lets hope for next game TJ Brodie realizes who the fuck Connor McDavid is and that he cant out skate him.
Both McD goals last night were Brodies responsibility, the break away he skated toward the middle of the ice before turning and trying to cut McDavid off but it was too late. He completely mis-read it and skated toward the middle of the ice for absolutely no reason, he needs to cut McDavid off there so Hamonic has a chance to stop him, you cant try to out skate McDavid, he's faster. The 1st goal, TJ got caught watching the puck and not looking for 97... somebody needs to tell him to watch that guy when he's on the ice.
I saw lots of promising things though from the boys, it was going to be a tough one because of being Edmontons home opener but we atleast saw that Smith is still good, saw lots of life from Tkachuk and the Gaudreau line looked dangerous at points.
I agree, both goals were on Brodie. Rusty or something. Hamonic looked a bit rough in the first period too, got himself trapped in our end a few times. Tkachuk looked good, Smith looked great. Our 4th line has some moments where they looked fantastic putting on pressure. Hathaway in particular... shame he's going down as soon as Jagr is ready. We need to dump Brouwer somewhere.
If one of those two posts we hit had good in... oh well. Flames haven't won a season opener in 8 years, nothing to get excited about I guess.
