do you believe you have the same state of consciousness when you enter the afterlife? whether that be Heaven, Hell, or something else you may believe in
consciousness comes from the human brain, and is made aware of its surroundings due to the physical 5 senses and stimulation of nerve endings
when we die, our brain is destroyed and our nerve endings turn off. So how do you expect the afterlife to be, and how will your "consciousness" interpret it?
Does your soul / spirit / chi / ect. have nerve endings of its own?

I believe that a person's spirit (body, mind, soul) carries an energetic quality that merges with God's limitless potential, and that the process of merging is our experience of afterlife.
Like in life, the dead walk different paths, and not all the paths lead to the same place.

I think we'll be the same person without the human needs and petty desires we have.

I see no real reason to believe an afterlife exists but it is a nice thought.
