SC bill to make mammoth official state fossil on ice over 'God' amendment
...
The fossil bill sailed through the House -- but ran into a snag in the Senate, after Republican state Sen. Kevin Bryant introduced an amendment stating that God created the mammoth.
...
Bryant ... told The State he believes the amendment does not violate the First Amendment because it is from the Old Testament, which multiple religions adhere to.
...

another clear case of a ron paul supporter being immune to reason
is there any hope left for the republican party?

ron paul supporter? No, not on that front there isn't any hope.

But when will liberals ever be capable of grasping human nature and behavioral economics?

so, you are siding with the creationists and all the other nutcases who think that the state should stay out of religion but religion has it's place in legislature?

I dont know how you could draw that bizarre conclusion. Our opinions regarding the matter are largely irrelevant to the case at hand. we are not members of congress. my point was I'm failing to see what your point was regarding "separation of church and state". if you're upset about it, write Kevin Bryant a letter and complain.

I don't see how Bryant's bill is relevant. Let's say God created the mammoth, does that mean it can't be a state fossil? It's still a fossil regardless of what created it.

They'll learn when they lose. Republicans are in real danger of losing the Governor's Mansion in blood-red South Carolina because people in the state are fed up with Nikki Haley's shit and with stuff like this. People making them pay in elections is the only thing that'll get it done.
