Asians are now the highest immigrant group entering the United States. Immigration from Mexico is currently near or at net zero due to as many people moving there from here as here to there now due to the sluggish economy, however the Asians have not stopped coming (not that they should!).

In 2010 430k immigrants into the United States were Asian, that is 36%, compared to 31% Hispanics.

A major reason that Asians are coming and Hispanics are leaving is because the United States is and has been changing economically from a manufacturer to a technology provider.

Another major reason is that Asians who come with half a million dollars to invest into a tech company magically have their immigration process considerably less lengthy.

There then there are the many foreign exchange students to really enjoy the United States and decide to make families here.

In 2010:
45% of all engineering PhDs went to Asians.
38% of all Math and Computer Science PhDs went to Asians.
33% of all Physical Science PhDs went to Asians.
70% of all Indian-American adults have at least a bachelors degree.
49% of all Asian-American adults have at least a bachelors degree.
28% of all Americans have a bachelors degree.

Asians have a cultural emphasis on the importance of education. Their families spend a lot on it, their communities spend a lot on it, they invest for long-term prosperity through education when all over the United States most families and communities are devoting less time and energy to education. School districts fail funding levies every year and now we only have a quarter of American adults holding a bachelors degree, and that is with the Asian-Americans dragging up the mean.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have our winners.

Bow to your new masters

...another positive is that they have no problem assimilating into our culture including their emphasis on mastering the English language . They actually understand the American Dream and are willing to work for it .

Same goes for Jewish people. A high emphasis on education and respect, plus a good work ethic.

not surprised

we have a culture that places extremely high importance on education to the point that suicide over failed exams is not that uncommon in our home countries

one problem we face is the welfare system available in this country makes it too easy to take advantage of which leads to rampant welfare fraud that's not visible to the general public

we're also leading in credit card fraud and insurance scams i believe - we have strong ties yet abhor one another for this reason and would rather deal with non asians for certain purchases/transactions

This makes me happy. European/White American culture has been rapidly declining and they aren't meant to lead any longer IMO.

The problem is that they aren't allowed allowed to stay. I believe that if you get a 4 year degree or higher from a regionally accredited college you should be allowed to take the citizenship test upon graduating.

Asian culture of competitiveness and excellence is very similar to the Western model. First industrialized country outside of European populated areas is Japan in the late 1800s.

The wave of Asian educated isn't just diaspora in the developed world. China in the next 10 years could become far and away the country with the most University degrees. And many of them got their education here. There's about 40,000 undergraduates in the city I live in and there's got to be thousands of foreign students, most of whom are from the Chinese middle class. One of the best business schools in the world is located here and it's an even higher percentage of Asian students, especially within the post-graduate section.

two key problems with that:
- people might come and opt for an easy degree just to be able to get citizenship
- can effect a brain drain on the home countries of those people
