You're sending two escalatory messages.

1) That powerful nations can safely resolve bilateral disputes through the use of force.

2) That weak nations need to substantially increase military expenditures and develop their own nuclear programs.

A nuclear-armed Middle East would be a disaster, and a nuclear armed East Asia where five to six hostile nations are currently involved in a low-level conflict would be taking a staggering risk.
