I'm running on a 4 year old Toshiba laptop ~ Win7

Runs fine as long as I keep environmental graphics low
Model graphics can stay on high

I'm just tired of having any bottlenecks or being bogged down in my games, hence the new build. I want to be able to fully enjoy my games to the most without much it ANY sacrifice.

So spending way more than I had thought lol

You don't need to have a supercomputer in order to run games on full settings. Video card would be the one thing you go big on, everything else you can go after a reasonably priced part.

not necessarily, guild wars 2 is by far more processor-reliant.

that's what i'd say, too.

as far as gw2 goes, you'd get better performance with upgrading your processor to i7, then taking the price difference and downgrading your gpu

Don't think I honestly need an i7... I wont put it to its full potential. I wont be doing any editing/programming etc.

Plus the CPU is already bought by my parents for xmas. If they were willing to spend more id get i7-3770k just cause, but they wont.

plus i plan to do some minor OC to the CPU anywho, from 3.4 up to 4-4.2 at most to be stable enough.

So that+ the evga 780 FTW i plan to get be fine.
